Sonic evaluation: Mesa Boogie F30 and Session Sessionette:75
These pickups sound great on both amps. The boogie has a fatter sound that highlights the subtlety of these pickups, giving a real punch to the bass and smooth treble. The session gives a sligtly harder Fender edge to the sound which makes it a delight for good ole rock and roll.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Thes pickups suit any style that you would associate a tele sound.

Comments: The pickups were recommended to me by the guys in PJ's, my local guitar shop and I would use them again without a second thought if the guitar was lost or stolen. In fact, I am now considering changing over the pickups im my Chandler Les Paul. I have two Patrick Eggles, an LA pro (strat style) and Berlin pro (PRS style) both of these guitars have Seymour Duncans, but I may be persuaded to change these as well at a later date.
I wanted a that 'vintage tele sound' and although the Shaftesbury is a 35 year old copy of the tele thinline, the pickups gave just that, rich and warm neck and just the right amount of twang on the bridge! The help and advice from the guys at bare knuckle pickups was first rate. They took the time to find out what equipment I had, what I wanted it to sound like, and suggested the best option for me, and they were 100% right. The extra goodies that come with the pickups are great as they supply a wiring diagram, new set of strings, pick, and when you fill in the warranty card, a replacement selector switch. What more could you ask for?
I took the guitar into the gutiar shop to let them try out the sound for themselves and they were impressed with the range and clarity (not bad for jaded musos!). These pickups are wonderful, if I say any more about them you'll think they're paying me for this review (now there's an idea!)
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this pickup a: 10 Fantastic value

Model of guitar or bass: Fender squire telecaster

Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Blues, country and rock
Reason for pickup change: Original Squire pick ups very lack lustre as are most pickups on entry level guitars
Sound
Perceived output level: Percievably more output than stock pickups
Tone: Warm bluesy tones, rich and creamy!
Sonic evaluation: I usually play various fender guitars through a Marshall valvestate vs232. I was going to retire this old squire tele as i hadn't used it since i got a really good strat but since it is the first guitar i ever bought i decided to stick some decent pickups in to give her a new lease of life.
I spoke to the guys at bare knuckle who suggested a set of their country boy pickups, and I have to say they are fantastic. easy install with a good schematic drawing and step by step instructions provided, this squire now sounds like a vintage tele with all the sounds/tone you would expect. clean it is bright and vibrant on the bridge setting and the neck setting is very strat-like and mixed setting has a lovely warm creamy tone. add some gain and these pickups really come to life, lets just say i havent touched my 70's strat for a while!
Im really pleased with these bare knuckle pickups and would be happy to recommend them. also very happy with the service at BKP good friendly advice from guitar minded people.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: country, blues and rock these pickups are ideal

Comments: This was my first time at a pickup retro-fit and i think i have been very lucky to land on some pickups that have given me the sounds i like. If i lost this guitar before the retro-fit i would not have been overly concerned but i'd be really peed off now! just goes to show you dont have to fork out scandalous amounts of cash to get a decent sounding guitar.

Reason for pickup change: I've attacked my guitar with powertools to get a nice wood finish and custom shape - I bought these pickups to get a sound to match it's looks!
Sound
Perceived output level: These pickups seem louder than stock, and no hum or buzz (I grounded the electics at the same time)
Tone: Neck pickup is smooooth, great for jazz, bridge pickup nice and trebly, great for Twang, both together is too funky!
Sonic evaluation: Guitar goes into a Zoom GFx-8 and then into a Fender Ultimate Chorus, 2 12" speakers. These pickups are fantastic!
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: They might be called 'Country Boy', but these are very versatile and could be used for any style.

Comments: Been playing for 14 years, also got a PRS Santana SE, an Ibanez Bass and a Yamaha APX4a, but I haven't touched those since I installed these pickups. They've brought this guitar to life. I was looking at Fender noiseless pickups to try and kill some hum, but then found the Bare Knucle website. Couldn't find a single bad review anywhere on t'internet, so took a chance - glad I did! These are handmade pickups for mass produced price - fantastic value and great sound.
