Plucker Studio Plucker Studio is a tablature composer, that is to say an editing tool whose purpose is the creation and reproduction of music for string instruments in tablature format. Although other tablature programs are currently available, Plucker Studio, I believe, is the only one which was designed specifically for composition and playing, rather than editing/publishing purposes. Of course, writing a composition would be impossible without editing capabilities, and other programs, such as Fronimo, allow for the playing and composition of music in tablature format. I think you will find that, while Plucker Studio's publishing capabilities are admittedly limited, it does offer a much wider range of tools specifically designed for the composition, transposition, manipulation, and playing of music in tablature format than any other existing software. Features -WYSIWYG editing of tablature in modern, French, & Italian formats -Supports instruments up to 14 courses (8 frettable, 23 frets maximum) -Automatic transcription of tablature into modern notation -Automatic conversion from one tablature format to another -Sound output to the sound card's FM synthesizer and/or external MIDI instrument -Full screen display with automatic scrolling when playing -Chord maker and note finder -Automatic conversion of tablature from one instrument to another, or one key to another -Export to GIF, MIDI, and TAB format -Imports TAB format -FM patch editor for the Yamaha OPL3 chip Requirements IBM pc or compatible, with DOS 3 or higher; VGA, and a Sound Blaster or compatible sound card with Yamaha OPL3 chip. You can use Plucker Studio without a sound card, but most the fun will be gone... Preferred: Windows 95. Note: Although Plucker Studio is a small program, it will run best with a faster processor. Slow chips may result in slow display of GIF files, and hick-ups in the scrolling functions when playing a song. In that case you might want to disable scrolling while playing.
