Ease of Use: 8
4 pots to tweak, you have to find out the combination that is right for you, although almost any setting produces some interesting tones.
connections are mono in and out and adaptor plug.
Sound Quality: 9
100% analog, Brigade delay lines, the best ones-
a bit noisy on extreme settings, but lot quieter than any average pedal out there.
powered by 18V, lot of headroom.
can do some lite flanging or taken to the extreme side it produces any sort of heavy modulations you can desire.
works well with other pedals too!
Reliability: 10
never had a prob in 15 years, that speaks by itself :-)

never dealt with vox
Overall Rating: 10
i play rock, and this is one of my secret weapons: i love to use it to add a sublte effect to the sound, really 3D.
i tweaked the internal trimmers so i can use it in parallel, very cool.
i also have a Paradox TZF that i love, but they are different animals, can't choose one or another, i love both :-)
it's a cool, inspiring tool, a real keeper.

Easy enough, four knobs tweak and go.
Use your ears and enjoy.
No Manual included, website has schematics though.
This is an older pedal nothing on upgrades known.
Sound Quality: 9
I use a variety of guitars and basses, I either go direct into a console or play through smaller combo style amps.
Suprisingly quiet for it's age.
Most settings I have found on this pedal are very good indeed. I would place the flange effect for this pedal on the subtle but versatile side.
I can hit this pedal with a little distortion and get a great sound or use it lightly on an electro acoustic and it sweetens the sound up just right.
I suppose you could get a nice Rush imitation out of it. My favorite artists at the moment are usually female singer songwriter types.
This pedal can do a nice chorusy-flange effect, really nice and not overbearing.
Reliability: 10
The pedal is solid, I opened it up and it looks great for it's age. You can depend on this effect as long as the electronics hold out.
You could use this pedal without back up but as a rule I don't go without back ups, I have other flangers.

Never dealt with the company but they have a pretty extensive and very informative website. I would think that you could get a limited amount of help due to the age and considering this pedal is no longer in production.
Repairs may be tough due to the discontuation of SAD1024 and Reticon chips. Substitutes are out there though.
Overall Rating: 9
I play ambient/acoustic/space rock style stuff, effects like this always fit into that category.
I've been playing for years, I have been gaining an interest lately in older vintage effects pedals and would love to come up with something unique and different in the pedal category these days.
This pedal is rare from what I can see and if you see one, I got this one off of Ebay, you may want to grab it. Replacement would be tough.
I love the v-shape of the pedal and of course the sounds are great as well. I have a few A/DA Flangers and this is a different animal from them but holds it's own nevertheless. This pedal is a keeper.
This pedal is unique to say the least.
It certainly inspires my playing and I enjoy listening to it very much.
If you can get one of these do it. Pricey but worth it.

4 knobs, mono in and out, really easy
Sound Quality: 10
amazing
this is full analog, no tthat digital crap found in new digitech pedals or cheap technology of boss'.
really deep, has its own sound, and is a "real" sound!
it goes from subtle modulaton to deep ring modulations with severe pitch changing.
love it!
Reliability: 10
built in 81, solid metal enclosure ("V" shaped, cool!), doesn't fear heavy usage.
Customer Support: 10
never delt with them, and this pedal seems impossible to break, but they have its schematic in their website. after all these years i say its really cool!
Overall Rating: 10
after many years of playing, i can recognize good effects and crap effects.
this is a very good one, as it has its own sound.
you can dig many different effects, and actually using them.
you never get tired of this.
