BSS Audio Offers SoundbenchTM Software for VaricurveTM Processing SystemsSeptember 26, 1997 -- BSS Audio, the leader in live and fixed installation sound control and processing, announces further refinements to its legendary VARICURVETM Equaliser/Analyser system. The VARICURVE can now be controlled as it always has, via the dedicated FPC-900 remote controller, or BSS'S new SOUNDBENCHTM software, an easy-to-use graphical interface that runs on any Windows®-based PC, including laptop computers. The addition of SOUNDBENCH to the already comprehensive VARICURVE system reflect BSS Audio's continuing commitment to giving fixed and live installation sound customers the leading edge in hardware and software control over their audio quality. The SOUNDBENCH software broadens control capability by allowing users remote control from a MIDI-equipped Windows®-based PC. The highly user friendly graphical interface of the SOUNDBENCH software provides users with fingertip control over such parameters as EQ frequency, gain, either by entering numerical values into specific fields on the screen, or by using the " nudge" buttons provided on the software. Furthermore, users can use " drop-and-drag" techniques to cut and paste EQ settings from one channel to another: as the mouse is placed over a memory key, the stored EQ curve is overlaid on the screen in a different colour. In addition to an enhanced level of operational convenience, the addition of PC remote control for the VARICURVE has another benefit: after parameters have been adjusted on VARICURVE slaves (systems with no front panel controls), and once the PC is removed, no unauthorised personnel can have access to EQ settings, providing a high level of security in club and meeting hall environments. SOUNDBENCH development will continue with control for the OMNIDRIVE available late this year. "The addition of the SOUNDBENCH software is part of an ongoing process at BSS in which we are constantly looking for ways to integrate our products to be ever more flexible and comprehensive," explained Paul Freudenberg, National Sales & Marketing Manager of BSS Audio. " We developed SOUNDBENCH from direct feedback from our end-users, in the interest of providing them with market-driven products that provide real solutions in their day-to-day work."
