Soundtracs DPC-II Digital Production Console

September 26, 1997 -- As part of their ongoing commitment to the continued expansion of their digital console line, Soundtracs will unveil a new model at this year's AES Convention. The DPC-II Digital Production Console is a Total Digital System designed for applications in Broadcast, Film, Audio Dubbing, Post and Music Production, as well as all areas of Recording and/or Mixing.

The in-line format console comes in two components: a modular work surface, and a dedicated rack for the analog/digital conversion. Two work surface frames are available providing 64 or 96 100mm Moving Fader Control and either size can support from 32 to 160 channels, and up to 224 audio interfaces.

The system displayed at AES comprises a 64 channel surface with a 96 input rack. Each "block" of 16 channels can have its own touch sensitive LCD color display. The DPC-II Digital Production Console has been developed from the technologies successfully employed within the critically acclaimed Soundtracs Virtua. The DPC-II was first shown at the NAB Convention as a prototype, with the intention of gathering serious user input which was used to create the current version on display. Its estimated price range is $100,000 to $300,000, depending on the configuration. Shipment is scheduled to take place the first quarter of 1998.

Soundtracs is pleased to provide the professional user with a true and uncompromising Digital Solution to Audio. The system configuration and extensive options provide for a high degree of customization.

Commenting on the current and future direction of the company, Rod Revilock, Soundtracs USA Product Manager, stated, "Soundtracs is very confident of its future position as a major provider of digital and analog consoles to the professional audio market, especially in post production and broadcast. Previously, the choices had been limited, compromised in specification, and very expensive. That is about to change forever!"

Soundtracs products are now fully supported and marketed in the United States by Korg USA, Inc.
