Steinberg Announces New Third Party Plug-Ins

September 26, 1997 -- Steinberg GmbH, the market leader of music software companies on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms, today announced four new Plug-Ins developed by Prosoniq and Waldorf for distribution by Steinberg. Steinberg has developed, established and extended their Plug-In architecture for four different platforms: Digidesign TDM Systems (Pro Tools 4.0), Steinberg WaveLab, Cubase VST for Power MAC and Microsoft's DirectX (the interface formerly known as Active Movie).

Plug-Ins by Prosoniq will be available from Steinberg dealers nationwide during Q4 1997 at a MSRP of US $399. Roomulator 1.21 - This set of new Prosoniq plug ins for Steinberg Cubase VST implements a powerful and versatile reverb effect into the VST environment. Optimized for different size ambiences, the Roomulator toolkit provides highly flexible, natural sounding reverb which meets the highest requirements of today's studio standard. Dense Hall Reverb with canyon-like decay times as well as simulating narrow spaces or closeup situations in utmost quality and brilliance are provided to all your recordings with this all-in-one reverb effects kit. The intuitive 2D manipulation capabilities let you easily adjust the overall room timbre while listening to the results in real time. Currently VST MAC only.

VoxCiter - This powerful tool will add natural brilliance to your vocal recording, refreshing and even restoring the quality and fidelity of any kind of instrumental or vocal material. It is great for finalizing vocal recordings or any instrumental track and will bring old recordings back to life again. VoxCiter adds that 'pro' sound to vocal recordings and gives audio tracks a touch of life that got lost during the process of sampling and intense post processing. Currently VST MAC only.

Ambisone - 3D Audio Engine for Cubase VST on MAC. This novel plug in allows you to mix your VST tracks in full 3D stereo. This includes placing sound sources outside or above the speakers to provide your mix with a previously unthinkable width and depth. PROSONIQ's unique Virtual Scenery Modelling approach is different to the methods found elsewhere: it not only allows for 3D placement when monitoring the mix through a loudspeaker setup but also retains the three-dimensional sound image when listening through headphones. Currently VST MAC- only

D-Pole- a unique new technology from Waldorf - the famous inventors of the MicroWave II Synthesizer. Multimode Filter Plug-In for Cubase VST. D-Pole offers Low-Band-Notch, HiPass-Notch and Resonator with resonance and up to either 12 dB or 24 dB per Octave. Furthermore D-Pole features an Envelope-Follower and LFO for Cutoff and Panorama Modulation. Currently for VST MAC.
