Waves Announces ATP System for High-Level Radio/Net Audio Processing

September 26, 1997 -- WAVES LTD., the leading supplier of DSP software for the professional audio and multimedia markets, today announced the Waves Audio Transmission Processor (ATP) software package. The Waves ATP software package includes the Q10 Paragraphic Equalizer, L1 Ultramaximizer, C1 Dynamic Compressor/Gate, and Renaissance Compressor and is configured operate as a turnkey solution with the Galim Signal Processing hardware (also available from Waves). The Galim system offers a dedicated 4U 19" rackmount, multi-effects, realtime audio processing system for broadcasters and audio engineers with the modular flexibility and control offered by computer based DSP software.

As a completely digital product, Waves ATP provides clean flexible processing for all types of audio transmission. Waves ATP is built on the Galim SSP 70A open architecture hardware platform. When coupled with ATP, the 70A provides the following realtime signal processing:

Netcast encoding formats:

  • RealAudio
  • Microsoft NetShow ASF
  • VDOnet

Signal Processing:

  • Maximum Loudness and Ultramaximizer limiting
  • Automatic Loudness Control
  • Multiband Compression
  • Multiband Paragraphic Equalization
  • Bass Enhancement
  • Stereo Image Enhancement
There are two basic configurations of the Waves ATP: Internet, and on-air (AM, FM, TV, cable). The signal processing software comes with carefully configured settings for the various transmission formats and also includes the option of easy modification to fit the broadcasters' individual needs. Waves ATP 70-series hardware can be expanded to provide simultaneous multiple outputs for delivery to On-Air transmitters and Net broadcast servers.
