Acoustic-X Software and Pilchner Schoustal Introduce Acoustic-XLT
September 26, 1998 --
Pilchner Schoustal Inc. and Acoustic-X Software Corporation will introduce their second version of room-optimization software, Acoustic-XLT, at the 105th AES Convention in San Francisco September 26 - 29, 1998. Acoustic-XLT is the follow-up version to the highly successful Acoustic-X, launched in 1997.
Based upon feedback from their first release, Acoustic-X Software Corporation is introducing a second software which will tentatively be called Acoustic-XLT. LT is designed with a less intensive user interface and is a scaled down version of the original Acoustic-X.
LT will still perform all of the basic functions of the original with the exception of advanced editing and Ray-tracing, which were removed to improve the ease of use. Although scaled down, LT offers some advanced capabilities not found in the original Acoustic-X. These capabilities include fully editable surround sound speaker placement, and automatic comparison of speaker responses from every room position. Main speaker and sub-woofer locations are automatically processed by separate optimization routines. LT also features an advanced speaker database that can handle virtually any type of speaker configuration or sub-woofer.
"The aim of Acoustic-XLT is to make advanced acoustic optimization accessible to a wider range of users, many of which have no knowledge of acoustics. It is simpler to operate, and at a proposed cost of $99.00 dollars, is something that everyone can afford." says Schoustal. The release is scheduled for November 1998.
Pilchner Schoustal Inc. is currently involved with a wide variety of international projects which include recording studios, 5.1 surround theatres, broadcast facilities, cinemas, museums, large-scale hotels, post production facilities and live performance spaces.
