CAD Unveils VSM-1 Tube Condenser Microphone

September 26, 1998 -- CAD Professional Microphones, utilizing its new state-of-the-art clean room capsule facility, recently unveiled the newly developed VSM-1 tube condenser microphone employing CAD's exclusive proprietary OptemaTM Series capsule.

The new high performance VSM-1, a large 1.10" diaphragm, servo valve, single pattern tube condenser microphone, delivers extraordinary bandwidth, frequency and transients with exceptional gain and low noise. This breakthrough microphone is a natural bridge between the valve technology of the CAD VX2 and the servo technology developed for the CAD Equitek Series.

The integration of servo topology and advanced circuitry combined with a high degree of shared VX2 tooling provides an extremely high level of performance at a very aggressive price point.

"We didn't cut any corners to build the VSM-1 and so we didn't compromise the performance," said Bruce Forbes, Vice President, Product and Market Development.
