Steinberg to Bundle Software with EMU Audio Production Studio in EuropeSeptember 26, 1998 -- EMU-ENSONIQ has announced that Steinberg Software of Hamburg Germany will supply a special software bundle for the EMU Audio Production Studio (APS) exclusively for the European market. The bundle consists of Cubasis AV, WaveLab Lite, and a demo version of Recycle, allowing users to perform MIDI sequencing, digital recording, sample editing, groove manipulation, and CD mastering all on the PC using the EMU APS 64 channel sampler / disk recorder / effects PCI sound card. Ideal Software bundle tailored to the abilities of the Hardware The software defined in the announcement is tailored specifically to the abilities of the APS hardware. The APS is a PCI card for the PC which has 64 channels of sampling or disk recording and hardware based effects. The card is particularly powerful thanks to its new EMU10K1TM chip that supports SoundFont(R) sample format and has a hardware based effects processor built in. The software package is designed to allow the user to do everything from sample editing, disk recording, MIDI sequencing, groove editing and CD mastering all inside the PC using the APS as the core hardware. "We are very excited about this agreement with Steinberg. This new software bundle for the our European customers is ideal in that it really takes advantage of all of the power of the APS" notes Denis Labrecque, the Marketing Manager for the APS. Sequencing Sequencing in the package is made possible by Cubasis AV, a combination disk recording/ MIDI sequencing application. Cubasis has become one of the standards in MIDI sequencing due to its powerful combination of features and ability to handle both MIDI and digital audio simultaneously. Sample & Audio Editing Sample and audio editing in the bundle is provided by WaveEdit Lite, a software package specifically designed to perform editing and DSP operations on an audio file. DSP operations are performed with very high resolution, with all calculations performed with 32 bit floating point accuracy. Some of the functions that can be performed are cut, copy, paste, EQ, pitch correction, chorus, harmonizing, normalizing, and sample rate conversion. WaveEdit includes a CD writer function that allows edited audio to be burned into a write once CD for making your own audio CDs. Groove Editing The software package also features a demo version of Recycle, a highly acclaimed interactive groove manipulation software package that allows the user to create and manipulate loops in real time, and then save new loops based on the modifications to the original. The program loads a sample, analyzes the audio, and then allows the user to manipulate the groove on a beat by beat basis. Visit EMU-ENSONIQ on the web at www.emu-ensoniq.com.
