Minnetonka Announces SurCODE AC-3® Encoder for Dolby® Digital 5.1 SurroundSeptember 26, 1998 -- Minnetonka Audio Software has licensed AC-3 encoder technology from Dolby Labs for encoding 5.1 Surround Sound. "It is Minnetonka's goal to offer the recording engineer the most comprehensive array of software tools for Surround Sound Authoring," stated Minnetonka's president John Schur. "Since Dolby Digital is a well-established starndard for 5.1 Surround, we are pleased and excited to offer tools for Dolby encoding." Minnetonka's AC-3 encoder runs on a Windows platform.
