NHTPro Introduces New Line of Studio Monitors

M-00 Powered Mini Monitors

September 26, 1998 -- NHTPro today announced the introduction of three new amplified monitors and monitor/amplifier systems, created to bring the sonic accuracy of the finest high-end audiophile home loudspeakers to professional, project and mid-range studio users. The new high-performance, high-value models making their debut at the 105th AES Convention (San Francisco, CA, September 26-29) include the M-00 Powered Mini Monitor, the A-10 Studio Monitor System and the A-20 Studio Reference Monitor System.

As Jack Hidley, well known in pro audio circles and Chief Design Engineer at NHTPro points out: "A truly accurate studio monitor should be able to do more than just play loud and let you hear the squeak of the guitarist's fingers on the strings. At NHTPro, we strive to provide studio monitoring systems that achieve the highest level of musical accuracy - at prices that set new standards of value. After all, your final mix is only as good as your monitors, and the resolution and transparency of NHTPro monitor systems allow a recordist to hear all the way 'into' the sound field."

NHTPro systems incorporate a wealth of leading-edge technologies and innovations to achieve performance far beyond currently accepted "standards" in affordable pro audio studio monitor design. Foremost among them are newly developed drivers that use a combination of ultra-high-tech and tried-and-true materials for unmatched detail resolution, smooth frequency and off-axis response and vanishingly low distortion. To complement the performance of these superb drivers, each NHTPro model utilizes an amplifier system specifically matched to the drivers and enclosure for superb frequency response, high efficiency, tight, punchy, articulate bass, an uncolored midrange and extended highs with no brittleness or "etching." NHTPro speakers provide high SPL output with negligible distortion, for volume monitoring without listener fatigue even during extended mixing sessions.

All NHTPro studio monitors are designed for maximum user flexibility in the widest range of professional, project, broadcast and mid-range studio applications. A choice of input connectors and selectable input sensitivity provide total connection flexibility with all types of professional and home audio equipment. Built-in indicators provide constant, at-a-glance operating status. All models include simple optimization switches for accurate response in a variety of listening positions, and Models A-10 and A-20 feature unique Wall Proximity controls that precisely tailor the speakers' bass response to compensate for placement distance from nearby walls. NHTPro products are built to the highest standards of professional reliability, and provide superb sound in any recording environment.

M-00 Powered Mini Monitor

The compact M-00 is a near-field/mid-field two-way monitor with built-in 75 Watt amplifier that is ideal for project and home studio use and surround sound monitoring applications. The M-00's fully shielded acoustic-suspension enclosure is constructed from a lightweight, ultra-durable aluminum alloy. The M-00 includes a near-field/mid-field crossover adjustment control, and high dynamic headroom with anti-clipping circuitry to help prevent speaker overload, and an Auto-On feature that automatically shuts the speaker off when not in use and powers it back up upon receiving a signal. Although measuring only 9" high x 5 5/8" wide by 7 1/4" deep, the M-00 produces a "big" sound that belies its compact size, with 111 dB SPL peak acoustic output. (SRP: $350 each)

A-10 Studio Monitor System

The A-10 is an affordable high-performance near-field/mid-field monitor system that is perfect for home and project studio use. The A-10 system which combines a pair of two-way speakers (11 7/8" H x 7 1/2" W x 10 5/8" D), with a outboard amplifier/control unit. The control unit includes a 150-watt per channel stereo amplifier with five-position sensitivity switch, power and clipping indicators, near-field/mid-field crossover optimization control, and two-position wall proximity adjustment control. The A-10 provides 116 dB SPL output with 55 Hz-20 kHz frequency response (+/- 2 dB) and offers remarkable value. (SRP: $1,200/system)

A-20 Studio Reference System
A-20 Studio Reference Monitor System

The A-20 is the ultimate-performance near-field/mid-field/far-field monitor system for project and professional studios. The A-20 system includes a pair of two-way speakers (14" H x 7 1/2" W x 11 7/8" D) and a separate control unit. The A-20's control unit includes a 250-watt per channel stereo amplifier, clipping indicators, SPL, output device temperature and line voltage meters, five-position crossover optimization control, five-position wall proximity control and headphone output. Its 45Hz-20 kHz frequency response (+/- 2 dB) and 117 dB SPL capability makes it ideal for full-range monitoring of high-volume rock and other demanding program material. The A-20 offers true reference-quality sonic performance. (SRP: $1,900/system)
