Sonic Foundry Adds 3 More ACIDTM Loop Libraries

Cyclotronic Resonator
Ethnicity
RADS

September 26, 1998 -- Sonic Foundry (AMEX:SFO) is adding three more titles to their collection of loop libraries in the Loops for ACID series. The three libraries: Cyclotronic Resonator, Ethnicity, and RADS were created by leading sound designers and optimized to take advantage of ACID's time stretching capabilities. ACID is Sonic Foundry's loop-based music creation software. The loop libraries are original and license free.

Cyclotronic Resonator (MSRP $59.95) - by Sound Werx, features hundreds of outstanding loops across a wide spectrum of styles and arrangements. This disc contains everything from House, Dance, Techno, Electronica, Pop, Acid, to Noise and many other styles-all with the composer/producer in mind. Cyclotronic Resonator was designed to flexibly accommodate the needs of users from Di's to radio producers to multimedia content creators.

Ethnicity (MSRP $59.95) - hundreds of global loops featuring traditional rhythms from Indonesia, Australia, India, Arabia, Turkey and the Philippines. This collection makes it easy add a soulful, global sound with ready-to-use loops of percussion instruments from around the world. Mixing ethnic instruments creates audio experiences with a unique cultural feel.

RADS (MSRP $59.95) - Rhythmic Architectural Design Systems by Pocket Fuel is a vast collection of kick, snare, hi-hat and ride cymbal patterns, along with dozens of drum fills and cymbal samples. This collection enables rapid creation of intricate, infectious drum loops in an incredible range of styles. RADS offers unmatched flexibility and a user-friendly structure for building customized beat patterns with ease.

ACID (MSRP $399) - is the latest addition to Sonic Foundry's line of audio software for the Windows platform. "ACID gives musicians new creative flexibility;" says Roy Elkins, Sonic Foundry's vice president of sales and marketing. "Before ACID, a musician could spend hours trying to match the tempo and pitch of two loops. The ease with which musicians and producers can alter music with ACID is going to lead to an explosion of experimentation and creativity."

Loops can be previewed in real time before being opened. ACID automatically matches the tempo and pitch of the loop for instant synchronization. Changing the pitch of a project merely involves selecting the desired key from a drop-down menu.

ACID supports unlimited tracks, based on system RAM. Each track includes the volume, pan, and effect envelopes for greater editing control.

ACID is available for both the Windows 9x and Windows NT platforms and requires a Pentium 133 with a Windows-compatible sound card. A Pentium II processor is recommended for realtime effects.
