Sonic Foundry Introduces the Professional Remix FactoryTM

September 26, 1998 -- Sonic Foundry (AMEX: SFO) introduces Professional Remix Factory, a complete software/hardware package for creating, mixing, and burning music to CDs. Professional Remix Factory includes ACIDTM, Sonic Foundry's loop-based music creation software, CD ArchitectTM software, Sonic Foundry's professional CD mastering software, a MicroBoards PlayWrite 4080 CD burner, and all the accessories necessary to burn professional audio CDs on a PC. According to Doug Nestler, the Director of Retail Business Development,

"Professional Remix Factory allows anyone with a PC to rapidly create and remix their own music, moments later burning it to a professional audio CD. This is truly a one-stop-shop for the creative musician" The software, designed for quality results as well as ease of use, streamlines the productive process from start to finish.

Software included - ACID is a breakthrough music production tool from Sonic Foundry which brings unprecedented creative flexibility to loop arranging and editing. Any of the hundreds of loops included with ACID can be combined to create custom music in minutes. Loops are added or deleted with a simple clickand-drag. ACID automatically matches the tempo and pitch of the loop for instant synchronization. CD Architect is the software solution for creating professional CDs. It includes an editor with dozens of professional effects and tools for mastering audio files. Special features enable realtime volume fades and cross fades, support for arranging tracks with precision, and the production of studio-quality premasters.

Hardware included - Professional Remix Factory includes the following hardware: MicroBoards PlayWrite 4080 CD-burning hardware, SCSI cable, PCI SCSI card, and two MicroBoards PrintWrite CDs. MicroBoards PlayWrite 4080 is the de facto standard for multimedia applications. Features include SCSI interface and support for fixed and variable packet writing, running optimum power control, and major CD-ROM formats.

Minimum system requirements: for Professional Remix Factory are: Windows 9x or Windows NT, Pentium 133 (Pentium II recommended for real-time effects) or Alpha AXP microprocessor, 32 MB RAM, a Windows-compatible sound card and a CD-ROM drive.
