Steinberg today announced Macintosh and Windows support with Cubase VST/24 of the new Yamaha DSP Factory-a digital audio D2416 PCI-Card for Macs with DSP Horse Power for flexible signal routing and audio processing as EQs, compressors, gates and effects processing. The acclaimed VST (Virtual Studio Technology) architecture will allow the user to directly access all the interface and processing functionality of the DSP Factory with a dedicated set of mixer objects, embedded into VST. The audio section is fully automated and allows the bouncing of audio tracks digitally.
With this powerful combination of Cubase VST and DSP Factory the user gets the best of both worlds. Native Audio Processing with an open PlugIn architecture for flexible expansion and the pro quality digital audio converters and processors on Yamaha's card.
"The combination of VST and DSP Factory brings a new level of power to those creating on the mac platform. Yamaha is thrilled Steinberg's Macintosh customers will now be able to enjoy the benefits of the DSP Factory," commented Peter Chaikin, Yamaha Pro Audio Product Manager.
"It is another big step in computer based recording technology", comments Manfred Ruerup, Steinberg President.
