Akai Demonstrates EtherView Control Software

October 3, 1999 -- Akai Digital is demonstrating their powerful new EtherView machine control software at the AES Convention in New York City.

The Akai EtherView software runs on standard Windows (95/98/NT) based computers and allows the control of multiple DD8 Plus digital audio dubbers and DD16PB Plus 16-track playback systems from a single computer screen.

Connecting via the DD8 Plus/DD16PB Plus' built-in AKAINET (Ethernet) port, the new software controls functions from System Setup to sophisticated session management -- even on multiple machines in different rooms or stages.

Commonly used commands such as testing hardware configuration, display and edit settings of individual machines and store/recall machine setting templates are accomplished quickly and easily and from one centralized location.

For total control, users can display real-time status and meters of multiple players and recorders, load projects onto specific players and create multi-machine projects for global reel change all from a single PC computer monitor. EtherView can even centralize error management, simplifying even the most complex machine room configuration or project.
