Pro Tools v5.0 To Support Apple's New Power Macintosh G4

PowerMac G4

September 27, 1999 -- Continuing the company's long-term commitment to supporting the most popular and powerful computer systems, Digidesign announced its upcoming support for Apple Computer's Power Macintosh G4 with systems running Pro Tools v5.0 software.

"Pro Tools users will immediately recognize the increased power and speed offered by the G4, particularly with graphic performance and general responsiveness, says Wendy Abowd, Digidesign's Pro Tools product line manager. "G4 users will be able to take maximum advantage of the new functionality provided by Pro Tools v5.0 and its new supporting options," says Abowd.

Digidesign expects full support of the Power Macintosh G4 range with all Pro Tools v5.0-based systems, including those using the new AVoption and AVoption|XL for import, capture and playback of Avid video. Pro Tools LE, Digidesign's new host-based version of Pro Tools for home studio products, will also be supported.

Full G4 support is expected at or soon after the release of Pro Tools v5.0 in mid-November. For the latest Pro Tools v5.0 and G4 compatibility information, please visit our web site at www.digidesign.com.
