Sony Launches SRP-F300 Digital Speaker Processor

Includes High Performance 24-Bit, 96kHz AID and D/A Conversion

October 1, 1999 -- Sony Electronics today announced the launch of the SRP-F300, a powerful two channel digital speaker system processor with high performance 24-bit, 96 kHz A/D D/A conversion capability designed for sound contractors and recording studios.

The SRP-F300 contains a host of DSP functions designed for optimizing sound system performance in a variety of configurations. These include: 11-band parametric or 31 -band graphic EQ & compressor on the main inputs and delay, limiter, 3-band parametric, hi- and low-cut filters, and phase reversal on each of six analog outputs in any of several multi-amp configurations.

"The SRP-F300 excels in a wide range of sound reenforcement applications from medium size spaces to large venues such as halls, theaters, gyms and stadiums," said Paul Foschino, marketing manager of professional audio products, Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Professional Company. "The PC compatibility of the unit, via an RS-232C interface, creates a secure and easy way for engineers to configure an audio system for any event in real time."

The SRP-F300 includes a comprehensive, GUI-based software interface, which provides system setup and parameter controls. In addition, the SRP-F300 is equipped with a security lockout to prevent unauthorized tampering.

The SRP-F300 is scheduled to be available January 2000. The suggested list price has not been announced yet.
