Germany's A.M.P., which stands for Acoustic Music Performance, offered a real rarity: a dedicated classical guitar amp. The Podium IV runs at 50 watts and is quite small; suggested retail is 871 DM without digital effects and 1,252 DM with built-in digital effects.

The Podium IV is designed to work with A.M.P.'s Rumba guitar mic system, which lists at 298 DM. The Rumba is cool because it is easy to attach and remove and it requires no guitar modifications whatsoever. A condenser mic is mounted on a gooseneck, which places the mic precisely under the bridge.
