Andreas Guitars
After seeing, oh, a million guitars in one day, you know something special has come along when the million-and-first catches your eye. That's what happened when I stumbled upon the Andreas booth. The various models of electric basses and lead guitars offered by Andreas incorporate the word "shark" in their name. For example, Basking Shark is a bass, while Fierce Shark is a lead guitar with a burnt finish. And Gray Shark is blonde . . . go figure.
The design incorporates brushed aluminum in the fretboard, headstock, and accents around the pickups. The neck is made from some sort of epoxy. Other quality touches include Schaller hardware and Seymour Duncan or EMG pickups. Oddly enough, the guitar and bass both sound pretty woody - much warmer than all the aluminum might suggest. Their overall tone is powerful yet refined. Andreas isn't actively pursuing U.S. markets. www.andreasguitars.at, 43-4825-255 |
