Frame Works Guitars

Here's yet another unusual acoustic/electric instrument, compliments of this German firm. The guitar looks like an upside-down Martin Backpacker: It's headless at the nut, with tuners past the bridge. Pickups are high-quality transducers, which are incorporated directly into the six individual saddles.

A pair of back padded tubes give the guitar shape. These tubes detach to allow the guitar to travel in a very slim custom gigbag, which comes with the instrument.

A variety of steel-string, nylon-string, MIDI, and dedicated classical and jazz models are available, ranging in price from 3,400 to 3,900 DM.
