Unveiled originally at NAMM, the 1642-VLZ PRO Compact Mixer. The 1642-VLZ PRO is the first, completely new, high-end professional compact mixer offered by Mackie in over four years. The key feature here is its XDR Extended Dynamic Range premium mic pre-amps, which offer 60dB-gain range with low noise and headroom to spare. Think of it as an ultra-premium mic pre-amp rack that just happens to have a 16-channel (eight mic/line, two mic/stereo line, and two stereo-line) mixer attached to it.

Both of Mackie’s live sound mixers, the SR24o4 and SR32o4, showed in updated form at the Messe with XDR mic preamps, for 60 dB gain range, an expanded dynamic range for hot 24-bit digital signals, massive +22dBu input handling capacity, 192kHz bandwidth, and 0.0007% THD. The SR24o4 and SR32o4 VLZ Pro also feature improved RFI rejection, and their new 2068 op-amps offer lower noise and distortion. Both mixers also benefit from improved cooling for greater thermal protection.
