SPL Area 5.1
The Area 5.1 is a new miking and mixing system for surround recordings. It includes five mic preamps, which can be coupled with a motorized control. Each preamp delivers up to 70dB of preamplification gain. Other functions include padding, phase reversal, and phantom power, as well as a stereo downmix section that allows users to record both 5.1 and stereo at the same time. The Sub/LFE channel creates the sub signal from a selection of front, surround, and center microphone signals. Accessories include a mic array in the typical INA5 setup, which can hold any microphone and a multicore with a length of up to 500 feet.
