Steinberg previewed its Midex 8, an 8-in/8-out USB MIDI interface that supports the company’s new LTB (Linear Time Base) technology. LTB allows for constant and controlled transmission of MIDI data with a precision as low as 300 microseconds. Midex8 connects to the computer’s USB port with one single cable and offers drivers for Macintosh and PC computers. The unit comes in a 19" rack; it can sit on your desktop or be installed in a rack with the included rack ears. Power is supplied via the USB connection, although an option power supply will be needed when using more than one Midex 8.
