Expanded MIDI functions include the ability to use the player-roll and appended "MIDI Event List" in the MIDI editor to edit MIDI events. MIDI controller curves can be edited with drawing tools above the audio display. A new representation of fades and crossfades is available in Samplitude and Red Roaster. The amplitude representation is linked to the chosen playback level - in other words, signal level can be checked with the waveform itself. Fade-in and -out segments in a crossfade are superimposed in simultaneous display, with comprehensive settings provided by the revised crossfade editor. Asymmetrical crossfades can be created and displayed, and the locking position within the fade can be set freely. Owners of software versions 5.2 and higher can download the update to version 5.5x free of charge over the Internet, or order the update from their SEK'D distributor. Upgrade fees apply to owners of older versions. |

Version 5.57 of the Samplitude multitrack recording and editing application offers an improved track performance; the TrackSpeed function, which requires 8 to 32 MB of free RAM, raises the number of tracks that can be played back simultaneously on a "native" hard disk recording system by up to 100 percent.
