Kurzweil Music Systems
Players searching for that perfect piano sound and feel for the road now have a lightweight and affordable option in the Kurzweil SP-Series stage pianos. These boards feature full-sized, velocity-sensitive, weighted keys and two programmable ribbons in place of the standard pitch and mod wheels. Each unit has 32 onboard sounds, which consist of pianos, organs, strings, and one synth pad. SP boards are two-part multitimbral and 32-note polyphonic. They can control up to two external MIDI instruments at a time on two programmable keyboard zones. There is memory to save up to 32 MIDI setups. Voices are not editable, but eight types of reverb and a chorus effect are available for sweetening.
Estimated prices, converted from German marks are $800 for an SP76 with 76 keys, $900 for an SP88 with 88 keys, and $1050 for an SP88 with hammer action.
