Spectrasonics
The paradigm of current sampling CDs is about to be knocked on its head with the introduction of Groove Control from Spectrasonics. The Groove Control concept is to give users easy command of a looped sample's tempo without changing pitch, and - much more than that - to offer control of the timing and feel of the samples. This is done by including MIDI sequences that correspond to the samples on the CD. You simply load a sampled groove into your sampler, load the sequence into your software sequencer, and you have instant ability to change the tempo, timing, shuffle, and placement of the loop. In the fairly stagnant world of sampling CDs, this is one of the biggest things to come around since the discs themselves. Spectrasonics has several new releases that are Groove Control-activated. Retro Funk is a drum loop collection that features Eric Boseman, Bob Wilson, John Ferraro, and Gregg Bissonette playing funky beats on vintage drums. The two-CD-ROM with Groove Control plus audio CD lists for $199. The audio CD without Groove Control lists for $99, and both collections are now shipping. The Liquid Grooves collection is now available with Groove Control. The CD-ROM plus audio CD lists for $199. If you already own Liquid Grooves, call for a special upgrade price. Fantastic worlds of sonic mutation reside inside the Bizarre Guitar collection, now available with Groove Control on the CD-ROM only. The CD-ROM lists for $199, the audio CD for $99. www.ilio.com/spectrasonics, 800-747-4546 |
