Zildjian Introduces Two New Cymbal Cleaners

March 11, 1998 -- The Avedis Zildjian Company announces the introduction of two new cymbal cleaners to their popular line of percussion related accessories. The cleaners are formulated for use on specific Zildjian cymbal ranges for optimum results. Both cleaners are easy use and do not require the use of water to obtain excellent cleaning results. Both cleaners come in 4 ounce, flip spout plastic bottles that are attractively packaged on blister packed backer cards for easy point of purchase display.

The first cleaner is the ZBT Cymbal Cleaner which is specially formulated to clean sheet bronze cymbals. All Zildjian Sheet Bronze cymbals including ZBT, ZBT Plus and EDGE ranges feature factory applied coatings to retard tarnishing and fingerprinting. ZBT Cleaner is designed to maintain the coating as much as possible without removing it. The product contains a component that leaves a thin coating on the cymbal after cleaning, further protecting the factory coating and the cymbal. The product is also designed to be easy on the printed logos that are found on cymbals.

The second cleaner, the Zildjian Liquid Cymbal Cleaner is specially formulated to clean light to moderately soiled cast cymbals. The product is an easy to apply liquid lotion that does not emit strong cleaning chemical odor. The product is specifically designed for use on Brilliant Finish A and K Zildjian, A Custom, K Custom, Z Custom and Brilliant Finish Special Effect line cymbals. The product is designed to remove surface grime and fingerprints and leave the cymbal looking new. The special formulation has minimal abrasive so as not to harm the sound of the cymbal.

According to Product Specialist John King, "Many times people try to use an inappropriate cleaner to clean their cymbals. The cleaner may remove the factory coatings or logos that cannot be reapplied. ZBT cleaner keeps the cymbals looking like new and maintains the coating. The lotion is very easy to use without a lot of the mess that is usually associated with cleaning cymbals. And let's not forget that keeping the tonal grooves clean allows the cymbal to open up better, like a cymbal should!"

ZBT Cymbal Cleaner and Zildjian Liquid Cymbal Cleaner joins Zildjian Cymbal cleaning Cream in the Zildjian line-up of cymbal cleaning products. Zildjian Cymbal Cream is the strongest of the cleaners and is recommended for use on heavily soiled cymbals.
