Virus OS 2.5 Announced

March 3, 1999 -- At the Frankfurt MusikMesse, Access announced the upcoming version 2.5 of the Virus operating system. This will be the same operating system for both the Virus and the Virus kb.

Version 2.5 is a free update for all users of the Access Virus - either the Virus kb (16 voices) or the Virus desktop (12 voices), with many new features. One of the most significant features is the new modulation matrix. 27 modulation sources and 90 destinations are available, allowing you to modulate all important parameters of the sound engine using the LFOs and the envelopes. In addition to the 15 hardwired modulation routings, the user can choose to modulate an additional six parameters at will.

Other new features include a ring modulator and a very flexible unison mode. Also the Virus can now access a total of 512 sounds - 256 ins ROM (Flash) and 256 ins RAM.

The new operating system should be available shortly, downloadable from the distributor's web site at www.tsi-gmbh.de.
