New Pricing for M20 Professional 20-Bit Multitrack Recorder

March 3, 1999 -- Alesis is pleased to announce new pricing for the M20, its most advanced audio recorder to date. The new price of 5.410 Euro (suggested retail price, excluding VAT) goes into effect as of March 1, 1999.

The Alesis M20 is a professional 20-bit digital multitrack recorder that offers 24-bit digital converters for improved dynamic range, 9-pin control support, an industrial tape transport, and more advanced synchronization features than its counterparts - the XT20 and LX20 recorders. Combined with its high-resolution digital audio recording capabilities, the M20 offers the expandability and compatibility that has made ADAT a worldwide standard.

"Our decision to lower the price was based on wanting to make the M20 more accessible to the increasing number of project studios currently running their XT20s and other ADAT recorders to capacity," said Jim Mack, Alesis vice president of sales and marketing. "While some musicians and studio owners may not have originally considered M20s because of the financial investment, at this new price point they can take advantage of the advanced feature set and robust components this machine offers."

The M20 also features the true jog/shuttle wheel with special aux track for analog-style scrubbing and cueing, 100 namable locate points, adjustable input/output level controls and a built-in synchronizer that allow M20 to chase or become master to any existing system. The latest software upgrade (version 2.0) enables M20 to act as a slave to devices using the RS-422 synchronization protocol with 9-pin interface, allowing M20 to be fully integrated into all professional recording studio and post production applications.

The M20 system consisting of recorders, the CADI Remote/Autolocator and the RMD Remote Meter Device are currently available from Alesis dealers worldwide.
