Digigram Announces New "Pro-Consumer" Audio Solutions

March 3, 1999 -- Digigram, the leader in digital audio solutions for professional applications, will be presenting its new digital audio product line dedicated to pro-consumers for the first time at the Musik Messe Exhibition.

Said Digigram’s sales and marketing manager, Gérard Santraille: "Due to great demand, we have decided to move into this very wide market. This approach is part of Digigram’s global strategy to make its technology and expertise available to a wider audience. These products will be sold by authorized distributors carefully selected for their professionalism and in-depth knowledge of the market".

Digigram’s director of international operations, Wlodek Sielski, will take charge of setting-up and implementing the new distribution structure for this exciting market.

The following products are part of the new range:

Xtrack sceen shot

Xtrack Audio Suite – a complete set of professional-quality digital audio tools. More than just a multitrack editor, Xtrack is intuitive and full-featured, making it suitable for broadcast editing, video post-production, dubbing, live sound presentation, CD authoring, and other applications. Different component combinations are used to make the best tools for each task available when needed. Additional flexibility is created by the choice of Digigram sound cards used with the Xtrack system. Xtrack is available with Digigram multichannel cards (PCX440np, LCM440), stereo cards (PCX11+ for PCI, VX222) and laptop cards (PCXpocket, VXpocket).

VX222 Card – A high-quality linear stereo sound Card. VX222 includes balanced analog inputs and outputs with 24-bit converters, as well as digital input/output in AES/EBU or SPDIF formats. The VX222 is designed to work with the wide choice of applications using Microsft’s WAVE protocol and the MacOS Sound Manager. The VX222 can be used with Digigram’s Xtrack digital audio suite for multitrack editing, assembly and playback of audio for live performance and other applications.

PCXpocket

VXpocket & PCXpocket Cards – Two Type II PC Card cards designed for professional audio applications on a laptop. After the great success of the PCXpocket - the first professional-quality type II PC Card audio card - Digigram introduces two new models for recording, production, and audio analysis for 1999. When used with editing software and equipped with a communications board (ISDN or modem), these cards transform a laptop into a complete mobile audio workstation. The PCXpocket v3 provides full PCX power in a compact package. It has 24 bit converters, two balanced analog mono inputs at microphone or line level; and two balanced analog outputs. SPDIF input and output allow direct digital transfer. The VXpocket has similar features, but lacks the on-board DSP to run np SDK applications directly on the card. The VXpocket is designed to work with the wide choice of applications using Microsoft’s WAVE protocol, or the MacOS Sound Manager.
