Ampeg's Super Jet
July 12, 1996 -- Coming on the heels of the highly successful Ampeg Jet reissue, the Super Jet promises to establish its prominent position among the "Tone Kings" of its time. Using two EL34 power tubes, the amp screams 50 watts of uncommonly rich tone, over 3 times the power of its little brother. It utilizes a tailored 12" American made speaker with customized cone and a Kapton voice coil former to enhance the desired nuances of the amplifier. The tremelo model (SJ-12T) tone controls include Volume, Tone, Tremelo Speed, Tremelo Intensity, and Reverb Dimension. The footswitch accesses both the Reverb and Tremelo. The reverb model (SJ-12R) features Volume, Bass, Midrange, and Bass as well as Ampeg's historic Reverb. The footswitch accesses the reverb and controls a Gain Boost function that takes the amp from clean with tons of headroom to the outer limits of distortion.
