July 12, 1996 -- DigiTech's award-winning GSP2101 guitar preamp/ effects processor just got one step better with the introduction of the GSP2101 Artist.

The latest incarnation of the GSP2101, the Artist features 52 new presets written by over 30 of the world's hottest guitarists and bassists. In addition to these new presets, there are 100 presets from the original GSP2101.

The GSP2101 Artist includes presets written by the following musicians: Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Bailey, Jennifer Batten, Blues Saraceno, Eddie Berner, Jorge Casas, Warren Cuccurullo, Warren DeMartini, Paul Pesco, Frank Gambale, Chris Haskett, Alphonso Johnson, Ivan Julian, Chan Kinchla, Albert Lee, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tim May, Vinnie Moore, Steve Morse, Chris Squire, Steve Stevens, Don Teschner, Phil Upchurch, Wesley B. The unit's tuner has been improved to include dropped tunings, and a new, more intuitive interface is included for setting up the optional Control One foot controller. Like its predecessor, the Artist's extensive preamp features two 12AX7 tubes to produce three tube distortions in addition its three solid-state distortions. With DigiTech's proprietary S-DISC(R) processor, the new GSP2101 offers the same flexibility to design customized algorithms from such effects as reverb, chorus, pitch shift, detune, Whammy(TM) wah, flange, tremolo, arpeggiator, pan, phase and phase invertor, as well as a crisp delay and sampler of up to five seconds. With the addition of an optional PPC-210 expansion card, the Artist offers even greater effects memory and seamless patch changing, making it the most powerful preamp/multi-effects processor ever developed for the guitar or bass.
