Fender Tex-Mex Strat
July 12, 1996 -- Fender Musical Instruments has cooked up a new version of their best-selling Stratocaster model electric guitars. The Deluxe Strat, a traditional design equipped with Fender's latest pickups, the Tex-Mex Trio, also uses electronics from U.S. Vintage Series Fender guitars. Fender electric guitar Marketing Manager, Mike Lewis, said the pickups (and the guitar) will be made in the company's state-of-the-art factory in Baja California, Mexico and are based on Fender's legendary Texas Specials. "They're overwound for a hot sound and also have an extra high end bite that matches up with this guitar perfectly. We think players will love the sound of this guitar." Wearing medium-jumbo frets on a one piece, satin-finished maple neck (rosewood fingerboard available) and Vintage hardware, the Deluxe Strat is available in Candy Apple Red, Sonic Blue, Vintage White, Brown Sunburst, or Black. U.S. suggested retail price including deluxe gig bag is $599.99. For more information, visit their web site at www.fender.com.
