Parker Guitars NiteFly Bolt-On Guitars

July 12, 1996 -- Parker Guitars has launched the eagerly awaited NiteFly, a 22-fret, bolt-on neck version of the Fly. In keeping with the Parker tradition of creating guitars that are light and agile, this new guitar tips the scales at only 6.5 pounds.

As with the original Fly, the NiteFly's basswood neck features a layer of high-modulus carbon and glass fiber (as thin as a coat of paint) molded to its back. It's fingerboard is also made of a similar composite - strong, yet lightweight and fast. In addition, the new guitar features "jumbo" spring-tempered, stainless steel frets.

Other common ground includes the vibrato: a free-floating spring vibrato system utilizing a premium steel and high-strength aluminum bridge.

The NiteFly's maple body is available in both solid and transparent colors. Three custom DiMarzio pickups in either hum/single/single or single/single/single configurations are mounted on Parker's newly designed pickguard, with additional pickup configurations planned for the future. A Fishman passive-piezo-transducer system is located in the bridge.

NiteFly's list prices are $1299 for triple single configurations and $1349 for the hum/single/single coil configuration.
