Boss PW-2 Power Driver

PW-2
XT-2

July 12, 1996 -- Keeping pace with the expanding tastes of guitar players for different types of distortion, BOSS has introduced two new distortion pedals: the PW-2 Power Driver and the XT-2 Xtortion.

The PW-2 Power Driver was designed to capture the over-the-top, stack-of-4x12"s sound that was previously available only through overdriven tube amps and stacks of speakers. The PW-2, which includes tone controls aptly named "Muscle" and "Fat," provides the distortion sounds that are currently popular with the new breed of alternative/modern rock guitarists.

The "Muscle" control radically alters the distortion's midrange sounds, while the "Fat" knob can boost or cut a guitar's low frequencies. When combined with the PW-2's level control, these tone controls deliver the thick, grinding distortion sounds that have made alternative rock what it is today.

XT-2 Xtortion

The second of BOSS' new pedals, the XT-2 Xtortion, takes distortion in a whole new direction. The XT-2 provides a truly original distortion sound for the cutting-edge guitarist of the '90s --a sustaining distortion

that can sing as well as grind. The XT-2 is also unique in that its EQ controls, "Contour" and "Punch," can radically manipulate a distortion's texture --much more than conventional controls. "Contour" cuts highs or boosts highs and lows, while "Punch" controls a distortion's midrange. The versatility of this contemporary distortion pedal should prove useful for creative musicians from rock to alternative to metal.

Both the PW-2 and the XT-2 are sturdily built, and carry BOSS' five-year warranty.
