DigiTech XP Series Effects

XP 100
XP 200
XP 300 and XP 400

July 11, 1997 -- All four models in DigiTech's new XP Series of guitar effects pedals are designed to provide an incredible range of sonic flexibility thanks to their treadle-style Expression Controllers, which allow guitarists to alter their effects parameters in real time.

The XP-100 Whammy/Wah is a multi-talented Whammy/Wah pedal that is at home in any guitar rig. Offering all types of Wah voicings, from subtle to extreme, the XP-100 also provides numerous Whammy Bar effects, such as Pedal Steel, Chromatic Harmony, Pitch Detune and Tape Start/Stop.

DigiTech's XP-200 Modulator serves up the most desired modulation effects for the guitar. Variations of the classic Chorus, Flanger and Phaser sounds find new control techniques with the XP-200. The pedal also features an incredibly authentic rotating speaker simulator with true horn and rotor voicings. Tremolo, Vibrato and AutoPan effects round out a comprehensive arsenal of modulation possibilities. And, thanks to the XP-200's expression pedal, guitarists can really zero in on those modulation sweet spots.

The XP-300 Space Station is the '2001 Space Odyssey' of floor-effect pedals. The Space Station can provide guitarists with every special effect imaginable, from Synth-Volume Pedal Swells to full-on Octabass effects. Ring Modulator, Resonator and Reverse effects (reverse reverbs) also help to make the XP-300 the most bizarre stompbox on the market.

DigiTech's XP-400 Reverberator can run the spectrum of reverbs, from plate reverbs to hall and cathedral reverbs. The pedal also offers a wide range of analog and digital delays, which may be all be controlled via the XP-400's 'tap-tempo' function. This allows guitarists to set delay time taps by simply tapping their toes to the desired tempo. Several multi-effect presets even combine both reverb and delay effects to provide lush-sounding sonic landscapes.

In addition toe their healthy array of effects, all four XP Series pedals feature six user mode positions for quick access to those presets that are used most frequently.

The Expression Controller on each unit can additionally serve as a volume pedal, while an on-board chromatic tuner eliminates the need for another piece of gear in the signal path. An LED display shows program number and tuning information, with two additional LEDs for clip and signal. Externally powered by a DigiTech PS750 power supply, 1/4-inch connections include a single input jack and two output jacks.

All XP Series pedals utilize high-quality, 18-bit, 128-times oversampled A/D/A converters. Frequency response is a full 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with an S/N Ratio greater than 90 dB.
