Guild Introduces JF65 Acoustic Guitar At Summer NAMM '97
July 11, 1997 -- Good things come to those who wait. Such is the case for patient guitarists who have been anxiously awaiting delivery of the much anticipated Guild JF65 acoustic guitar . The wait is finally over--this new flagship Guild six string Jumbo model will debut with its 12 string counterpart, the JF65-12, for the first time at the summer NAMM show in Nashville. Inherent in both instruments is the outstanding attention to quality, styling and sound that have made Guild's American-made guitars the instruments of choice for serious players for over 45 years. The JF65 has a solid spruce top hand selected for grain and sonic qualities from Guild's large stores of top quality sitka spruce. The body features multiple binding and selected flame maple on its solid sides and arched back. The spruce top has shaved spruce bracing selected and cut at the Guild factory in Westerly, Rhode Island. An ebony bridge and inlays of natural pearl and abalone contribute to the guitar's classic look and sound. The JF65's ebony fretboard is hand picked from Guild's drying room after a two year waiting process in which the wood is aged to perfection. The classic Guild headstock has the inlayed Guild "G" shield logo. Full production on the JF65 began in June, allowing anxious guitarists to breathe easy, now that the wait for the JF65 is over.
