Korg DL8000R Multi-Tap Delay and AM8000R Multi-Effects
July 11, 1997 -- Korg has introduced two new studio-quality effects processors: the DL8000R Digital Multi-Tap Delay and the AM8000R Ambience Multi-Effect Processor. These 1U rack-mount digital processors feature full-bandwidth frequency response (20Hz to 20kHz, +/- 1dBu), a broad dynamic range (>96dB, A-weighted) and an exacting 48kHz Sampling rate with 18 bit linear, 128X oversampling A/D and D/A conversion. The DL8000R Digital Multi-Tap Delay provides stereo delay times of up to 5,200ms; a maximum 10,000ms delay can be achieved in mono with both delay lines connected in series. The DL8000R features eight delay taps and delay times can be set manually or automatically, using tempo and note value parameters. Additional features include extensive real-time effects control, independent left and right 3-band EQs, and 128 user program memory locations. The AM8000R Ambience Multi-Effect Processor provides a range of 40 stereo effects. These include an array of delays, reverbs and modulation effects, plus effects such as compressor, limiter and resonance filter. In addition, the AM8000R's ability to deliver simultaneous real-time control of up to 8 parameters gives the user flexibility and control typically associated with only the most expensive studio processors. The high-performance, professional design and sophisticated parameter adjustment capabilities of Korg's DL8000R Digital Multi Tap Delay and the AM8000R Ambience Multi-Effect Processor make them ideal for project/enterprise studio owners who would like "big studio" sound quality without the associated price tags. The DL8000R has a suggested retail price of $650.00 and will be available in August, 1997. The AM8000R has a suggested retail price of $650.00 and will be available in September, 1997.
