ToneWorks Pandora PX-2 Multi-Effects

July 11, 1997 -- When ToneWorks introduced the original pocket-sized Pandora multi-effects processor, guitarists were stunned by its ability to create professional quality effects such as: compression, overdrive, distortion, reverb, wah and pitch shifting. ToneWorks has now raised the benchmark with its introduction of the new Pandora PX2, the ultra-compact personal effects processor featuring 67 effects variations and noise reduction; an Aux-in with 2 dedicated effects; 38 user programs with new factory presets; 32 built-in rhythm tracks; metronome; key transpose and auto-chromatic tuner.

The Pandora PX2 is loaded with great sounding effects that are conveniently configured in groups providing instant access to any of the 67 effects.

The "Drive Group" features effects such as: Compressor, Crunch, Scream, Tube, Hotbox, HiGain, Valve, Crush and Scoop. The "Modulation Group" is comprised of: Chorus, Flanger, Vibrato, Phaser, Tremolo, Panning, Auto Wah, Wah and Random Step Filter. The "Ambience Group" contains various Reverb, Delay, Echo and Pitch Shifting effects.

An enhanced Cabinet Resonator control with adjustable resonance level creates the sound of various combo or stack amplifiers, giving the sense of "air" and depth of an actual speaker cabinet. In addition, the Pandora PX2 has a tone control with High and Low Shelving EQ, as well as built-in noise reduction.

One of the most unique features of the PX2 is the built-in Drum Machine/Metronome with 32 preset rhythm patterns, including: rock, jazz, funk, bossanova and dance. The Metronome has adjustable controls for volume and tempo (from 40-240 beats per minute).

An auxiliary CD or cassette input allows the user to play along with their favorite tracks. The Aux-in also features two dedicated effects; a Center Canceller effect eliminates the guitar or vocal sound mixed in the center of the stereo field, and a Pitch Shifter effect makes it possible to alter the pitch of a track from a connected CD or cassette player.

Powered by two AA batteries or an optional 9V adapter, the Pandora PX2 comes with a built in Auto-Chromatic Tuner, Headphone Output (for private practice) and new, easy-to-read backlit LCD display.

The Pandora PX2 weighs just over 6 ounces, and is small enough (5" x1" x 1-9/16") to fit in the palm of your hand or guitar case. The PX 2 has a suggested list price of $250.00 and is available now.
