Crate Announces Turbo Valve Guitar Amps
July 11, 1997 --
Crate has announced that the new Turbo Valve line of all-tube guitar amplifiers will
begin shipping in August. These amps are American-made and designed to cover a wide
variety of playing applications.
"The Turbo Valve line continues in the tradition of our award-winning Vintage Club and
Blue Voodoo tube amps, but offers some new and significant features," says Crate
Product Manager, Pat Stevenson. "The power tube section consists of 6L6/5881 tubes
which offer an unparalleled clean sound at full power as well as subtle and aggressive
distortion sounds. And for the ultimate in sound flexibility, the amp can be fitted with EL34
tubes by the user. The Turbo Valve's auto-biasing feature ensures proper operation
between the tubes and the amp."
Other key features of the Turbo Valve amps include an all-tube preamp section with a
complement of 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes; fuse protection for each tube; vintage-voiced
speakers; two channel operation with individual EQ's and foot-switchable boost; XLR
output and parallel effects loop.
The Turbo Valve line is comprised of 50 and 100 watt combos including the TV60, TV120, TV6210 and TV6212; the TV50H 50 watt head; and the TV112V Celestion "Vintage 30" loaded extension cabinet. For more information, visit their web site at www.crateamps.com.
