Parker Guitars Announces the Fly Artist Guitar

July 11, 1997 -- Parker Guitars continues to expand their product offering with the introduction of the new Fly Artist guitar.

The Artist, like the Fly Concert guitar, is crafted from specially selected sitka spruce tonewoods chosen for their great response and sustain, and is extremely light in weight. The instrument is equipped with magnetic humbucking and active-piezo pickup systems enabling the guitar to go form electric to acoustic sounds, as well as blending both.

"At a finished weight of about four pounds, the Parker Fly Artist guitar is the lightest, fully featured guitar ever offered in production," commented luthier Ken Parker. "By introducing a one-piece solid spruce body electric guitar, we've transformed the classic spruce instruments of the masters into a new modern form, and reinvented the material for the 20th century," Parker continued. "Many players will experience the Fly Artist as the broadest palette of tones they've ever had access to, with a huge range of electric sounds from crystal clear to very throaty and powerful distortion sounds."

The Fly Artist is finished in a luscious transparent butterscotch, and like the Fly Deluxe and Classic models, features a basswood neck reinforced with high modulus carbon and glass fiber, spring-tempered, stainless-steel frets, Locking Sperzel tuning machines, a Parker vibrato bridge, Fishman active-piezo pickup system and DiMarzio Humbuckers.

Parker Fly guitars offer guitarists the ultimate in electric and acoustic guitar flexibility.

The Parker Fly Artist guitar lists for $3750.00 and is available immediately. The price includes a molded Hiscox case.
