New Crest X-Monitor Mixing Console - Stage-Centric

Recent Addition To Crest's X Series Of Consoles Offers Unique Approach to Stage Monitoring

July 10, 1998 -- Crest Audio announces the latest addition to the X Series of low cost, professional performance, live sound mixing consoles - the X-Monitor - to the 1998 Summer NAMM Show.

X-Monitor embodies a fundamental rethinking of stage monitoring systems. Its 12 discreet mixed outputs can be switched individually or globally to stereo mode to suit traditional monitor arrangements or the increasingly-requested "in-ear" systems. Separate level and pan controls operate when in stereo mode. Routing input channels to special outputs creates additional semi-custom mixes. Add the main left/right outputs, and up to 18 output mixes are available. X-Monitor functions admirably at FOH when many monitor or effects mixes are required.

Great space and cost savings are created by the provision of parametric EQ on all 12 output channels. This EQ can replace dedicated outboard EQ often required with other monitor consoles. X-Monitor's effects and matrix outputs are also equipped with output EQ.

Uniquely in a monitor console, a microprocessor-controlled mute system is included standard. Illuminated mute switches are provided for both inputs AND outputs. Signal monitoring is truly visual. All frame sizes (32 or 48 inputs) come standard with a full meter bridge incorporating mechanical meters, and five-segment level indicators are provided on each mono input. All input channels have a built-in splitter system with dedicate ground lift switch.

Additional features include: separate insert send and return plus direct output connectors on each input channel, pink noise generator, and individual talk-back assignment to each output.

X-Monitor performs and sounds well above its price bracket. Premium components ensure class leading phase shift, noise and distortion measurements. The console is supplied with a universal power supply with built-in link to a second, optional back-up supply.

Whatever the application - touring artists, regional sound rental companies, contemporary houses of worship, theme parks, nightclubs or broadcast facilities - all are suited to the X-Monitor's advanced features and facilities.
