Earthworks Introduces SR71 Live Sound Microphone

July 10, 1998 -- The Earthworks SR71 is a rugged live sound microphone. Its clean natural on-axis sound and excellent and uncolored off-axis rejection will serve well to amplify Voice (solo and chorus), Guitar and other Stringed Instruments, Brass and Wood winds, especially Saxophone and Flute, all manner of Percussion, particular Bass Drum, Snare and Overheads. It is far more accurate and natural sounding than the live sound mics you are used to.

The SR71 has flat on-axis frequency response from 50Hz to beyond 20 kHz. Its pick up pattern is very smooth, open and uniform across its entire front hemisphere. It is flatter at 90 degrees than most mics are on-axis, just reduced in level. The SR71 offers extraordinary gain before feedback because there are no peaks to encourage feedback. It rejects distant bass pickup in a manner which makes it extraordinary for guitar. The combination of its very good on-axis sound and its very strong off-axis rejection makes the SR71 a powerful tool for many live sound applications.

The SR71 is very user friendly. It has very low handling noise, handles very high sound pressure levels and delivers a full, clean, natural sound.
