Audio-Technica Introduces AT4047/SV Large Diaphragm Capacitor Mic
July 23, 1999 -- Leading microphone manufacturer, Audio-Technica U.S., Inc., announces the introduction of the AT4047/SV Large-diaphragm Cardioid Capacitor Microphone. Designed for use in the most demanding applications in recording, broadcast and live sound, the new AT4047/SV offers all the advantages of the classic vintage condenser sound with the reliability of Audio-Technica's modern engineering and manufacturing technology. The AT4047/SV microphone features a transformer-coupled output and utilizes dual, gold-plated and aged large diaphragms for extended frequency response (20 Hz-18,000 Hz). With its exceptionally low self-noise (9 dB SPL), wide dynamic range (140 dB, 1 kHz) and ability to handle high SPL's (up to 149 dB, 1kHz at 1% T.H.D.), the AT4047/SV delivers warm, natural sound without sacrificing high-frequency performance. A switchable 80 Hz hi-pass filter and 10 dB pad are included. To ensure optimum performance and isolation from noise and vibration, the AT4047/SV features a floating-construction element. In addition, a new heavy-duty Audio-Technica AT8449/SV shock mount is included to provide mechanical isolation and secure mounting. The AT4047/SV is finished in vintage silver-matte, and weighs 14.5 oz. (410 grams). The AT4047/SV Cardioid Capacitor Microphone is available July 23, 1999 and has a suggested retail price of $695.00.
