July 23, 1999 -- CreamWare has announced the release of SCOPE Sonic Rocket Booster SRB, a new expansion board which can be connected to existing Pulsar or SCOPE systems to add the power of 15 additional SHARC DSPs.

The SRB PCI board features five separate S/TDM busses for connection to other DSP cards of the SCOPE family (Pulsar, Pulsar SRB, SCOPE). The cards communicate with each other via the S/TDM bus - without any additional load to the PCI bus of the host computer. An intelligent load-distribution algorithm in the Pulsar/SCOPE software ensures optimal use of all DSPs in the system at all times.

With its 15 SHARC DSPs the card provides any Pulsar or SCOPE system with the enormous additional DSP power of 2.7 GigaFlops. (that's a total of 19 DSPs with a Pulsar system, or 30 for SCOPE!) With SCOPE SRB, Pulsar users can add the DSP power of the high-end SCOPE system at a very economical price. The additional DSP power permits much more sound generators, effects, and mixing channels to be used at one time, and/or allows the polyphony of synthesizers to be increased.

SCOPE SRB is available now. The board can be purchased exclusively from the CreamWare SCOPE partners network. The retail price is US$ 2998.
