New Acoustic Guitars from Fender

July 24, 1999 -- For guitarists who know the meaning of the word "value" when shopping for a quality acoustic instrument, Fender Musical Instruments will introduce five new guitars to its acoustic family in Nashville this summer. Whether it's a nylon stringed classical guitar, a steel stringed dreadnought, or the beautiful sound of a 12-string, Fender has the acoustic guitar that you want . . . and the value that you've come to expect from Fender.

Fender MA-2

A great guitar for beginners! The Fender MA-2 is 3/4 the size of standard acoustic guitars, lending playability to smaller or less experienced hands. First time players will love the quality of this guitar, which boasts a clear and vibrant sound, outstanding craftsmanship, and a price tag that will fit into anyone's budget.

The MA-2 is comprised of a spruce top, agathis back and sides, and comes with a natural gloss finish. Other features on this guitar are its nato neck with rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays, rosewood bridge, multi black and white binding, and chrome covered machine heads. United States MSRP is $189.99.

Fender DG-14S-12

What sets this new 12-string dreadnought apart from the rest is its Wood-Tone' finish. The minimum finish on this guitar allows for a maximum resonance, giving it an overall striking tonal quality unlike more heavily finished acoustic guitars.

The DG-14S-12 has a solid spruce top, maple back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, rosewood bridge, and die-cast chrome plated tuners. With its superior craftsmanship and a United States MSRP of $419.99, it would be very hard to find a better sounding guitar in its price range.

Fender DG-14S-LH

Finally, an affordable acoustic guitar for left-handers! The DG-14S-LH is the left-handed 6-string version of the new DG-14S-12, and features all of the same highlights. It is made with a solid spruce top, maple back and sides, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, rosewood bridge, and die-cast chrome plated tuners. And once again, this "lefty" dreadnought has a Wood-Tone finish, allowing for maximum resonance. United States MSRP is $399.99.

Fender CG-21S

Fender adds a new nylon string acoustic to head up its classical guitar family with the CG-21 S. This beautiful guitar is the top-of-the-line in its price range, with a clean sound that is sure to attract both professional musicians and novices alike.

The CG-21S is made with a solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, and a rosewood bridge. The headstock features the gold "F" logo, and has three on a side gold plated tuners with white plastic buttons. United States MSRP is $479.99.

Fender CG-24SCE

Old world meets new with this nylon stringed classical acoustic/electric guitar. Traditional craftsmanship is employed to build this guitar with its solid cedar top, ovanghol back and sides, and rosewood fingerboard. Adding a bit of new world flavor are the built in Piezo-active 4 band EQ and the cutaway body shape, which allows easier access to the higher frets.

The CG-24SCE also features the gold "F" logo on the headstock, as well as the three on a side gold plated tuners with white plastic buttons. United States MSRP is $599.99.
