New Stu Hamm "Urge" Bass II® from Fender

July 24, 1999 -- Considered by many to be an innovator of the two-hand tapping style of playing that was re-popularized in the late 1980's, Stu Hamm continues to define cutting edge bass playing in contemporary music. Whether touring solo, with Steve Vai's and Joe Satriani's G3, or in the recording studio, Stu's innovative techniques have garnered him industry-wide respect as a modem day virtuoso.

For the professional bassist looking to add a little bit of Stu's magic to their own playing, Fender introduces the Stu Hamm "Urge" Bass II®. This new Artist's Signature bass features upgrades made in accordance to Stu's exact specifications, including a full 34" scale length and new custom Jazz Bass Noiseless pickups.

The Stu Hamm "Urge" Bass II will also feature a solid alder body, special shape maple neck, 9.5" radius, rosewood fingerboard, Schaller lightweight machine heads, 6 bolt neck attachment with sculpted heel, 24 medium-jumbo frets, 2 custom Jazz Bass® Noiseless pickups in the neck and bridge positions, 1 custom P-Bass® pickup in the middle position, 3-band active EQ, white shell pickguard, combination top-load/string through-body bridge, Fender Super Bass 8250M strings, black Tolex(R) Fender case, a strap and cable.

Color options include: 3-Color Sunburst, Black with matching headstock, Bright Amber Metallic with matching headstock, and Bright Sapphire Metallic with matching headstock. U.S. MSRP is $1,699.99.
