Gibson Reissues 1952 Les Paul Goldtop
July 23, 1999 -- Gibson is reaching back into history to reissue the 1952
Les Paul Goldtop - the first Les Paul and Gibson's first solid body electric
guitar. With its gold finish and nickel hardware, this instrument looks
as good as it sounds. Two powerful P-90 pickups, each with separate volume
and tone controls, offer peak performance; while the solid mahogany back
and neck and carved maple top create a deep and brilliant tone.
The 1952 Goldtop features a 2 1/2 degree neck pitch, wrap around trapeze
tailpiece, top carving to original specs, and an original Large style
neck
