Gibson Introduces the SG Classic

July 23, 1999 -- SG Classic Gibson USA has introduced, for a limited time, the addition of the SG Classic. Inspired by the SG Special of the late 60's, this new guitar recreates the look and sound of the SG that helped define the most famous era of British guitar pop and the American psychedelic movement.

The SG Classic features an all-mahogany body, dual P-90 pickups and bound Dot inlayed fingerboard, the SG Classic fills the missing link in Gibson's hotter-than-ever SG arsenal. Available for a limited time in two translucent finishes - vintage Heritage Cherry or the modern Ebony Stain.
